Your favorite thing to do
I feel like I need to get out more and explore the city. Ive been here for over 5 years and there is so much I feel like I am missing. What are your recommendations, what do you love to do here in the valley?
Re: Your favorite thing to do
I would say Old Town Scottsdale is my favorite area! I might be biased since I am from Scottsdale, but I just love all the restaurants, shopping, sight seeing and nightlife. Most cities have an "old town" area and each one usually has nice restaurants and fun shopping!
DH and I also really love the Phoenix Zoo and Wildlife World Zoo, however if I am being completely honest, The Tucson Zoo is the BEST zoo in Az.
The Arizona Science Center always has neat exhibits!
Rawhide is super fun! It is a western themed attraction circa late 1800's that has stage shows, gun fights, live country music, rides, bbq...etc
Scnepf Farms is really pretty and a lot of fun!
Hope this helped, I'm sure I can come up with a lot more but that is all I can think of right now!
The Farm at South Mountain is a great place to visit - both to eat there (they have 3 different restaurants) and just to walk around and explore.
I also really love the Desert Botanical Garden and AZ Science Center.
Queen Creek Olive Mill is nice. I've been there once and the food is really good. They have a tour and this month they're having a festival going on.
Breakfast or lunch at Joe's Farm Grill in Gilbert.
Sitting on the patio with a cold beer at San Tan Brewery in old town Chandler.
Driving to the top of South Mountain and enjoying the view.
Going for nature walks around the ponds at Veterans Oasis Park in Chandler/Gilbert.
Browsing the stores and hitting the cowboy bars in Cave Creek.
Day trips to Flagstaff and riding the lift to the top of the mountain (amazing views!!!).
Day trips to Prescott or Sedona, especially when there's a craft or art fair going on.
Going to the Ahwatukee farmers market on Sunday mornings.
Wine and bruchetta at Postinos.
Lunch at The Olive Mill in Queen Creek.
Music in the Garden on Friday nights at the Desert Botanical Gardens.
Movies in the Park at the Biltmore Fashion Square (Grease is playing on the 22nd!).
I'm always checking out AZCentral.com to see what events are going on during the weekends.
Here are a couple of my fav's:Taking our bike up to Cave Creek and hit the Horny Toad for lunch and then hit the shops, Wildlife World Zoo, Horseback Riding by the White Tanks and I love the Arizona Broadway Theatre by Arrowhead mall.
