Bpics - taking the plunge

DHs birthday is at the end of the month and a friend of mine is having a girls night party with a b-pic marathon session and I'm taking the plunge.  I had been considering it for a while but figured I'd do my 5K run goal first and lose a little of the chub but the deal was too good to pass up. DH loves me the way I am anyway so I need to just get over my self consciousness! I've been smuggling clothes out of the house every morning.  I feel kinda silly throwing a bag of stuff in the bushes outside the door to retrieve when I go out to the car but whatever works!

My sister and I are heading to Ulta to get a make up lesson tonight because I'm pretty minimalistic when it comes to that stuff so I need the help.  I have to learn to do it on my own for the shoot tomorrow!  My sister decided to tell DH that she needed to borrow me because she was going to get a *ahem* personal area waxed and needed the moral support. DH turned about 5 shades of red but at least I have an excuse to be gone for a bit tonight.  That girl is seriously crazy.  Who thinks of that stuff?!

DH has no clue and I hope I can keep the secret so he doesn't find out.  I have no idea how I'm going to get the clothes back IN the house without him seeing - some of them are his (a dress shirt, a tie, and a hockey jersey) so not only do they have to come in the door but go back in the closet.

Re: Bpics - taking the plunge

  • Good luck!!  I took B-pics after our wedding for DH's x-mas gift.  It was a great experience.  We did a marathon session and had a glass or two of wine before hand.  That definitely helped!

Are there any times that you are home by yourself?  Leave the clothes in the car until then and then put everything away.  I took all of the clothes out of the closet when DH was home and put them away when he was home too.  He was totally oblivious.

Again, good luck....it's so much fun.  Just relax - he'll like the pictures no matter what.

  • Typically I leave for work after DH does but it has been insane this week and I've been going in early for some OT.  He works 4 miles from home so he beats me home every day - even if I send him to the store for groceries.  Maybe I'll send him out on Sunday to grocery shop by himself or run around to get stuff put back while he's in the shower again.

Our house is teeny so it would be really difficult for me to bring things back in without him noticing unfortunately.  We don't have any separate plans coming up either which is a bummer (other than the party/pics of course).

I'm excited and nervous all at the same time.  I have a bunch of stuff I'm bringing with and hoping the photog can tell me which stuff she thinks will work best.  lol - hopefully nobody laughs at me waking in with my big bag o shoes, makeup, and outfit pieces!

  • I did a session last year about this time and got a book done up by the time we went on Honeymoon in July. He was stunned! I took his bass with me and got some shots with it and he loves those the most. My sister did my make up and I did my hair and it was really no more complicated then that. I bought a few things brand new to wear and for other shots I wore things I knew he liked. I would do it all again I enjoyed myself so much.

Have fun and enjoy it! Women are beautiful in all forms and I am sure your DH will be blown away :)

  • I did these the month before the wedding for my H.  I thought I was going to be a wreck, nervous, anxious, etc. and I wasn't one bit.  I'm also very self-conscious of my body and thought I was going to hate the whole thing, but I felt so sexy and beautiful and I never do!  He STILL loves looking at those pics and in fact pulled out the album I made for him (there was only about 10 prints in it) the other day to show a friend of his from school.  I had such a great time & I bet you will, too!

No matter what, I know your H will be so thrilled that you decided to do this for him.  Have fun, relax, and show your naturally beautiful self off girl!!
