crawling back to my safe place
Brian came up with another name last night, Dylan. I know it's primarily a boy's name, but I kind of dig it in a non-traditional way. I asked on the name board and was jumped all over. Eeeeeek! There are some seriously hard core name people over there. Oh well.

While Dylan is nms, I think its more acceptable than naming a boy a name that is primarily a girl's name (even if it was originally a common boy's name years ago... like Ashley).

You guys will come up with a name that you both love. And, when you do, it won't matter what other people say. It will be your baby girl's name, and once that little princess is here and people start referring to her by her name, than any presumptions or "stereotypes" about the name will fall to the wayside.
Take a deep breath, and know that you're always "safe" here! I've got your back! Oh, and I've got the power to back that up.

I love Dylan as a girl's name. Why people feel the need to bash someone they don't know over something as intimate as naming their child is beyond me. Stay here Amy...NEVER EVER LEAVE THE SAFETY OF THE BOARD!
You could also use Ann/Annie as a nickname for Dylan.
Devon/Devyn is another neutral-sounding name in the same style -- the y gives it a little more girl power.
A friend of mine is named Dillon. Shes a girl.. I LOVE IT!
I knew a Kelly, Courtney and Ashley that were all male. Their "feminine" names made them stronger! Like Johnny Cash's "A Boy Named Sue"
1) I LOVE the name Dylan for a girl!!!!!
2) It's your baby girl - whatever you name her people will love once she's here ;-)
3) NEVER leave the safety of this board! I lurked on some of the trimester boards when pg, and the toddler board still occasionally. But posting elsewhere is a huge NO-NO! ;-)

So I was nosey and went over to the bump to see what they said to you....and seriously???? those girls are crazy! i get that some people may not like it, but how can someone feel so strongly about a name?
i totally see dylan as a unisex name and actually like it better for a girl than a boy.
AND side note....one website someone posted said that Addison is a 90% masculine name?? really??? Maybe I biased b/c of greys and PP haha
