DH and I would like to start trying a different place every month and love some recs from you guys. We are looking for places that are out of the ordinary or somewhere nice that you only choose for special occasions or somewhere different and fun. We want to try places different the "mainstream" restaurants. exp: olive garden, chilis, melting pot. Any suggestions??
Re: Restaurant Recs??
What part of the valley are you looking to visit?
Maggianos (Scottsdale) - Italian family style

Busters on the Lake (Scottsdale) - try the lavash
Bandera (Old Town) - Rotisserie/ribs, def try the corn bread!
Red White and Brew (East Mesa) Italian, try the pizza and the ziti
Palm Court at the Scottsdale Resort & Conference Center - they have the most amazing champagne brunch on Sundays.

YUM!
In Central Phoenix I love:
Hula's (Retro Tiki)
Maizie's (Wine and American Cuisine)
Postino's (Wine Cafe)
Breadfruit (Jamaican...they have a Rum bar next door...AMAZING)
Pizzeria Bianco (Gourmet Pizza...prepare to wait for several hours. Totally worth it and if it's date night a perfect excuse to sip on wine and spend quality time together at the bar they have next door)
Spinato's (Chicago Style Pizza)
My personal fav!
The best Mexican place is Frank and Lupes in Old Town! Amazing!
LOVE LOVE LOVE Los Dos Molinos. But only go there if you like spicy Mexican food.
Quessence at The Farm @ South Mountain... yum!!!
The House @ Secret Garden... I haven't tried it, but one of The Farm chef's just opened it not too long ago. Looks super good.
Pizza al Forno in Oldtown Glendale - 59th ave and Glendale. Brick oven pizza, hand tossed - AMAZING!!! Also they have a mushroom and balsamic ravioli - absolutely killer!!!
Line Thai - 97th ave and Bell Rd (South side of the street) - Super authentic Thai food that is to die for. Everything is incredible - Yellow curry chicken stew and Panang Beef are 2 of my fav's.
Carolina's Mexican Food - 90th ave and Peoria - Outstanding. Homemade tortillas, and oh so yummy.
Shangri La - 28th ave and Cactus (SW Corner)- The best Chinese in Phoenix, hands down.
Hard to find west side food....
