NER: I feel old

The notre dame club sets dinners up between alums and current students over here studying abroad. So, Dh and I took 3 out to dinner last night and then met up with some of our friends who also took some students out to watch the ND game.

I think it really hit home that I'm old. They were all really nice, but it was so odd that these kids were juniors and were therefore in high school when we were in college. There were a few stories we told that they responded : "OMG thats legendary!" things we were involved in are still talked about...and they are talked about as happening "back in the day."

wow. just wow.

Re: NER: I feel old

  • Haha, yeah.  I get a similar feeling when I realize that the new girls in the sorority (which I advise) are the same age or younger than the middle school students I taught while in college.

What will really be weird is when my American Girls start heading to college.

...omfg, speaking of which, Katie Henney is an episode of New Amsterdam...weird.

  • I know, the average college freshman is 10 year younger than me. 10! years!

fwiw, things that happened an average of 5 years ago = "legendary" in "college time". It seems longer ago than it really is.
