Dear Community,
Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

Thank you.

We just received an email saying that we will be taking a 4% pay cut. Both hubs and I work for the same district, so it will affect our entire household income. Also, they're going to reduce what they pay towards insurance by $200/month. It didn't mention being able to opt out. Double coverage is nice but copays are cheaper than $200/month.
Here's to a weekend of blue light budgeting!

Welcome to the dark side
Yeah that insurance part can be brutal. Just being on a family plan in general is pricey.
My cut included a bonus to make up the difference between my old salary and new but it took me almost a whole year to be in a place where the bonus was feasible. Luckily I was stingy as heck when buying our house and tried to base the mortgage and car payments on one of our salaries.
