Child-friendly flowers that grow easily?
I'm trying to think of a few craft projects for an Easter party, and I'd like to have the children plant their own flower seeds in a paper cup to take home and grow. Is there any type of flower that grows quickly and easily, without much maintenance?
Thanks!
Re: Child-friendly flowers that grow easily?
Maybe wildflowers or some lavender. To be honest, growing anything from seed is a pain. If the kid doesn't give it enough light or waters it improperly, it's just going to be dirt in a cup.

I agree with sunflowers.
The germinate really quickly and when they grow they grow fast (several inches a day).
My kids love the jumbo sunflowers that get to be about 10' tall.
Oh, neat! I can't believe I can say later this year I've been married 6 years! I don't feel old enough to have been married that long!
Ha, yes! We were both 21. Although, DH had just turned 21 a month prior. I'm 8 months older than him. So, yeah, at the age of 27, it just feels wrong to say I've been married 6 years!
