So despite the crazy stuff that happened during wedding planning, I think I'm pretty lucky to have married into the family I did. I don't have any family in this state so I'm not used to having family around.
Today a good chunk of DH's mom's side of the family (12 people) all showed up to help us paint our new house. Literally every surface needs to be painted and thanks to them, all the walls and ceilings got at least the first coat of paint today. It's not a *huge* house, but it would have been a big undertaking for DH and I alone. DH's cousin does flooring so he took measurements and is going to get us some samples and a quote for our kitchen and upstairs bathroom, and his uncle is a general contractor so he checked and capped some loose wires I found behind the bathroom mirror.
Re: Thankful for the family I married into
That's awesome!!
It would have been like that '60 minute makeover' show.
My Blog
You know, it's funny that I post this, then the next morning FIL and I get into it.
We had a disagreement as to where the wall color ends and the ceiling white starts as one of the walls in all three bedrooms curves up to the ceiling. He got so bent out of shape that I wanted something other than what he had already planned on (without asking the HOMEOWNERS) that he went outside and wouldn't talk to anyone for half an hour. Ugh, so annoying... But at least he painted the ceiling I guess.
