Help....

I posted below about how much to water and posted pic of the landscaping that I have done. The poster told me to water once a week, however the guy who put in the landscaping said I should water everyday as the flowers/plants would be thirsty. Well I took his advice and now I'm seeing yellow leaves on the evergreens and some are actually shedding. Am I overwatering? Are they dying? What do I do at this point?

I'm new to this and I'm very confused. Thanks!

Re: Help....

  • Reach down and feel the soil. Is it dry? If so, water it.

However, if the leaves are yellow, I would think to slow down on the water.

THIS. Nobody here can tell you if your soil is wet or dry. FEEL it. LOOK at it. There is no one-size-fits-all answer, and no "recipe" for you to follow. What I need to do in my garden can be very different from what you need to do;  even your next-door neighbors could have very different water needs for their plants. You just have to pay attention and engage your senses and thought processes to stay on top of it.

    Good luck.
