fun girls' weekend stuff in LA?

Hi,

A good friend from high school just moved to LA.  I live in San Francisco, so I'm planning on spending a weekend in LA with her soon. Neither of us are familiar with the city.  I'd love some recommendations for fun stuff to do for a girls-only weekend.

Thanks!!!

  • well you can't go wrong at a spa! Glen Ivy is pretty awesome, there is the main location in Corona and one by the beach in Hermosa Beach.

um... shoot, clearly my friends and I dont do a whole lot...

  • What area(s)?  Willing to drive?  And special activities...shopping, antiquing, dining, wineries, museums, bar-hopping?

Glen Ivy Corona is awesome, could make a day out of it.  There is a location in Valencia, and others.

  • My friend lives in Santa Monica.  Yes, we can drive.  We love good food and wine and are always up for a few fun bars at night.  Also, any cool hiking during the day is a good perk.

  • Well since she lives in Santa Monica, you could probably find tons of fun stuff to do there alone.

I'd do a nice breakfast, maybe at the Farmer's Market, followed by a hike in the Santa Monica Mountains (since you mentioned you like hiking). ?Have a quick lunch somewhere, some sort of pampering girly stuff somewhere or shopping on Melrose/Robertson/Rodeo (I'm not really into shopping or "girly stuff" though), and have a really nice dinner (I'm personally dying to try AOC - wine bar/small plates bar). ?You could hit up some nightclub/bar in Hollywood (the only places I go to are salsa clubs - there's a really good one in Santa Monica (Zanzibar) but they only play salsa on Mondays.?
