It's Monday...how was everyone's weekend?
Re: Happy Monday
I had a great weekend!
DH invited 8 guys over to watch the Flyers Friday and I got pizza for them and they had beer and snacks. It was fun but calm enough that I had no problem if they do it again. Minimal cleanup and they had a great time.
Saturday DH went along for the ride to go shopping to Victorias secret to use my secret rewards card ($50 yay!) and got something sexy for our anniversary, then to Kohl's for some capris, AC Moore and BJs. We had steak and mashed potatoes for a yummy dinner!
Sunday the kids came over and we hung around the house. I finished assembling my squares for the afghan I'm making and working on the border! I'll PIP when I'm finished it looks good so far!

My weekend was blah! I have been sick since Thursday, so Friday after work I took Nyquil and passed out at around 6pm...The rest of the weekend was pretty much the same. I'm still sick today so I am lounging around with a box of kleenex...
I hope everyone had a better weekend then me!
This weekend FLEW by!! Friday night Jeff and I went out for our Anniversary dinner, and it was FABULOUS!!! He really liked the dress, too, by the way.
Saturday I got up early to finish picking up the house, then had our Alumni volleyball tournament that started at 8:30. WINNERS!!!! : ) We won the Championship game at about 12:30, so after that my friend, Molly, and I went and got stuff for a small BBQ, and Jeff grilled for us. Then we went up to the tavern for a couple of beers. After that we got ready, then had a mini girls night with a few friends at a couple bars, then back to the local bar. Stayed up until 3:30 am playing pitch after we got home for the bar...oops!
Up at 8 for another tournament that started at 10 am. We started off really good, but went downhill from there. We should have done a LOT better, but what's done is done. I did fly full speed into the bleachers trying to get a ball. The corner of the bleacher hit right where my shin splints are on one of my legs. It is still killing me today! Then, came home and watched some golf with Jeff and his cousin, then last night we had some wedding cake! YUM!!! : )
Our weekend wasn't too bad at all.
Friday night I did a little retail therapy after work then went to Red Robin for dinner with DH.
Saturday morning we made breakfast and then went groccery shopping. After I put grocceries away, I went and got my hair colored and then ran a few more errands. It was getting late when I got home, so we just ordered pizza for dinner.
Sunday we went to church and then to a late breakfast. Then we got all the laundry put away and I switched out my seasonal clothes and bagged some stuff up for Goodwill. In the afternoon, I got a pedicure while DH got a haircut. We made some yummy pork chops for dinner and then chilled the rest of the night.
@Danie -- um OW on the bleachers connecting with your already hurt shins!
This weekend was fantastic and I'm depressed it's over. Friday night we made scallop and pancetta risotto which was to. die. for. So good! Saturday DH had a seminar at work all day so I got a manicure, went shopping, went to the library and watched some Real Housewives in peace
When he got home we met friends out for drinks and dinner on the water. It was heavenly.
Yesterday we went to breakfast at this new awesome place and then spent the afternoon at the pool.

My weekend was very uneventful. Friday I took the dogs for a 2 hour walk. Saturday, we got things done around the house and then I got utterly lazy and vegged on the couch. Sunday, we went to church, stopped at Joanns, and then I did some housework.
This is my only day of work this week so I'm super excited to get home. Although, I'll be working my butt off at home cleaning from ceiling to floor!

Monday already! About the only great thing about it for me is that my firm has a summit down in Miami this week, and I don't have to go...so it's literally going to just be me and about 5 other people (spread out over a large office space, so I likely won't see them much) for the rest of the week beginning tomorrow - yippee!
The weekend was very nice, actually! Saturday H and I spent the day in Annapolis, had a nice lunch, did some shopping and came home in the early evening and hung out around the house - which was lowkey, but nice :-)
Sunday, visited with H's family and then came home and did a bit of yard work...all in all a nice, quiet weekend :-))
Have a great week, ladies!
Hey girls! I hate Mondays
Although it's beautiful out today and I left work for a little while to get Subway for lunch! yay! The sun is out!
This weekend was NICE and RELAXING! Friday night we had dinner and vegged out. Saturday, I cleaned, food shopped and made cupcakes, while hubby did yardwork. Later that night, my friend had a girls' night at her place (thus the cupcakes). Yesterday, I did NOTHING and it was glorious. I haven't had a day like that in a long time. I made "Sunday Sauce" with meatballs and while it simmered, I read my book and watched tv (hubby went to the driving range for a couple of hours) so, like Rachel, I watched some of the RHofNYC and napped. It was rough coming back to work today and it's been a busy day!!
My weekend was busy! On Saturday we ran a bunch of errands and met with our accountant to finalize our tax paperwork (blech). I also had to spend a chunk of the day cleaning because my family was coming on Sunday, and it had been over a week since the housekeeper came. I can't remember if we did anything Saturday night, I think we were too tired after running around all day and I just cooked up some nice steaks and called it a day.
Yesterday my family came up, we went out to lunch by me and then I went with my mom, sisters, niece and nephew to see American Idiot (the Green Day show) on Broadway. It was pretty good, the best thing is that Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day was in it! It's closing in 2 weeks so he is performing in it until until it closes, which I didn't even know when I bought the tickets. My DH hung out with my very active 8 YO nephew while we were at the show, and we were both exhausted last night.
I make "Sunday Sauce" all the time! In my FIL's house spaghetti or red sauce in some way is traditional Sunday night family meal!

I'm thinking I need a recipe for this "Sunday Sauce" ladies.
Growing up, Sundays were my favorite days because my mom and grandma would make a giant pot of sauce and it was a day of eating
hehe
My recipe is pretty basic...I don't really measure, so I'll do my best to explain...
Meatballs: lean ground beef, chopped onion and garlic (or use onion or garlic powders, that's fine), salt and pepper, a couple of slices of wet bread. Just wet some sliced bread, weird I know, but it "holds" it together. I use the ends of the bread for this, maybe 2 slices per pound of meat. You can add a little breadcrumb if you want firmer balls (that sounds dirty sorry LOL). Roll into 2" balls and bake in a lasagna pan at 350 for about 35-40 mins.
Meanwhile, start a pot of sauce in a large pot:
Saute chopped onion, garlic in olive oil for a few minutes and add 2 cans of crushed tomato. Season with basil, parsley, salt, pepper. Season all of this to taste, and simmer. When meatballs are done in the oven, add them to sauce and continue to simmer (should gently bubble the whole time - stir often). I usually leave it for at least 2 hours - the longer the better. When you are ready, serve over pasta and lots of grated parmesan
Try it
Our recipe for sauce is almost EXACTLY the same except we use cans of tomato sauce instead of crushed tomatoes. Not sure why haha but thats what i was told!
