Rec your Cable Company?

Have I asked this before? Probably...

DH and I are looking (seriously) into installing cable. Please rec your cable/internet company...or tell us why we should stay away from it.

Sometimes the internet refuses to connect, or is super slow.  The cable TV sucks.  Each time I change the channel, the screen goes black and mute, and i have to wait for it to come back on again.  Sometimes it does not come on and I have to turn off the tv and turn it on again.  Sometimes when I am watching it will randomly mute a few seconds and you miss the conversation!

And it's expensive!

So you're saying, maybe we shouldn't get cable huh?

We have the options of dish network, time warner and verizon fios...I believe.

Time Warner is terrible. And their customer service is even worse. I'd tell my story, but then I would get all stressed out and it's not worth it.

Find people with Verizon and ask what their experiences are.

We have Verizon FIOS and it's the best thing ever. 

 

We had TWC and hated it with a passion.

While I don't think TW is all that fantastic, I hate Verizon with a passion.  I refuse to ever do business with them again. They were so awful to us when we had phone service with them, H actually gets visibly upset at the mention of the company name.  Not only did they provide terrible service, they treated us like crap and overcharged us for it.

Fios if it's in your area is probably cheaper than Time Warner. After a year of discounts, your rates will go up. I have to call and threaten to cancel, so we get a new deal.

We have CableVision and it sucks. Our internet is slow most of the time, changing channels on the tv takes a few seconds. We don't have any choice though, so we're sticking to it for now.

Yes, I agree Cablevision also sucks.  I hated them first, and still hate them more than TW.

Do you have the option of Direct TV? We have it here in our apartment and have no problems with it. We've had both TWC and VF and we hated them equally! I won't even go into V's customer service...just know they suck! Anyway, my LL has DTV and when we moved in he asked if we wanted to go in with him, so we agreed (being we were running out of options) and it's great. I know some people say don't get satellite because when the weather is bad there can be interference...we haven't seen any of that in the last 9 months that we're here.

It sounds like a lot of you are held hostage by the cable company. Sheesh! Kinda scary. Makes my bunny ears antenna look cute for a minute there.

Id say go for Verizon. They have good deals.

I currently have Time Warner and cant get any other carrier because we have no choice. Noone else is in our area, just TW.

Dont EVER get DirecTV though. They are horrible.
