One of my students asked me this today:
Now that you've been married awhile, anything you wish you had looked for in your mate? Not that you would change your partner (maybe you would!), but something you wish you had thought more about?
Re: interesting question
very interesting question!
i would love if DH was less into gaming but like alicia's DH, they are a stress outlet/escape for him. doesn't mean i wouldn't like to take a hammer to the xbox some days :P
and on the flip side: something that i didn't really give a lot of thought to when we first met but am very grateful for now - other than a few things that i also hate, DH is not a picky eater. i totally am picky but since we've been together, i've tried/learned to like a lot of different things and i think it has made me a better cook. my bff's husband is pickier than me and i think she misses out on some great things because he's that picky. like, i can't see them traveling abroad very much because he is so picky and reluctant to try new things. as someone who gains a lot of happiness from travel, this would make me feel very limited/frustrated.
oh that would annoy the heck out of me! i am such a foodie and love trying new things/places! I think its definitely frustrating when dining with picky eaters! and i can say that b/c i used to be THE pickiest eater i've ever known!
lol, i am less picky too b/c of DH! when we first started dating he would "get mad" at me for ordering chicken parm everywhere we went, when he would bring me to these nice places with amazing options. So being the young 18 year old that I was I tried new things to please him and wah-la he created a monster! I have this "try something 5 times and you'll like it" theory. Mind over matter!
