So,last night an hour after I wrote that post, I got a all from one of DH's co workers. "Can you come and get YH? We think he needs to go to the hospital." WHAT?! "He's not fully responsive and is still throwing up. He's laying on the floor right now (which is a concrete floor). How soon can you get here?"
Talk about FREAKING out. I dress myself, wake and dress the baby and off we go. Thankfully when I get there, DH felt up to standing and waiting by the door. He looked green. I was FUMING! I was trying to get his co workers to get his supervisor, I wanted to give her a piece of my mind. DH was like "jackie, please, let's go". He didn't want to go to the hospital. All he wanted to do was go home.
At home, he kept getting sick. But at least I was there to rub his back. The thought of him throwing up for hours at work, with no one rubbing his back or helping him to a cozy bed makes me tear up. I'm still LIVID. I was also scared to see how this bug could drop a bear of a man.
Called the labor board today....and though they say what his work did isn't right, it's not illegal.
DH is feeling a little better now. Although Adrian and our dog Kammie (she likes to take them both so Adrian is more at home) went to my neighbor's while i worked. I feel like I've been hit by a truck from stress from all this worrying.
Re: f/u to DH's work....
Wow! That is NOT cool. They could have endangered his life-- dehydration is no joke. With all that vomiting, he could have thrown his electrolytes and acid-base balance so far out of whack that he could have developed a dysrhythmia or similarly serious complication.
They are total @sshats.
I don't even get how he was helpful to them in that condition.
to them all
I agree!
This exactly! I really hope your DH feels better soon!
This exactly! Why on earth would they wait around watching him while he gets sicker and sicker when it is clear that he needs to not be there! I don't blame you for being livid, I would have been absolutely beside myself in the same situation.
