House building (pip of land)

So DH and I are in the VERY beginning stages of building a house! We've been working on getting the land sub-divided for over a year.  It finally looks like we'll be starting in the next few months.

Here's pix of the land for the house...or should I say my 4 bedroom craft space ;)

This is the view from the front.  We'll have winter mountain views and probably decent views from the second floor loft area (where the craft space is slated to go)

This will be from one of the sides.

His parents' house is behind us and we'll be able to see a small part of it during the winter but overall it's a pretty secluded lot.

We need to get the well drilled in the next several weeks.  We'll apply for a building permit after that.  Hoping to break ground in June.

Re: House building (pip of land)

  • Where are you building? DH and I are considering building too after I get there. We're thinking Greene Co.... maybe Barboursville or in Ruckersville.

  • His parents are gifting his part of their land in the western part of the county. My DH and FIL will be doing most of the work.

  • How exciting! We are doing the same thing...well sorta! We bought a parcel of land from a builder and he is putting one of his homes on it, we should break ground around the same time so it will be interesting to see how we progress!
