FB Question

So my MIL somehow steals my pictures and posts them on her FB.  I can't figure out how she is doing it.  I do allow her to look at pictures of C (which are the ones she is posting) but I blocked her from all my other albums.  I thought I had my security features pretty tight (only friends can look at the pics).  How can I prevent her from doing this or do you think she could be posting it as a link?

Upon further investigation it looks like she is sharing my profile pics album.  I can't edit my privacy settings for that album for some reason.  Anyone know how?

if she is able to look at your facebook photos all she would have to do is right click and choose open in a new page (this makes it the old way facebook would show pictures) then once on this new page you can right click and save to her computer then be able to do whatever she wants with it.  so i think the only way to keep her from doing it is to make all of your photos private from her.

Ugh!  How did she manage to figure that out?!?!?!  She's the type of person who types all of her emails with the caps lock on.

Sorry, but that part cracked me up!  There are reasons I am not friends with my MIL on FB.

Oy...yea unfortunately you can't stop that from happening. You can just save the photo to your computer. Anyone can do that. What's worse is the fact that I saw my half sis comment on one of my friends photos....apparently you can do this when it's a mobile upload. I did a double take thinking they knew each other but they don't. I think that borders on psychotic for people to look on my page and what I'm commenting on and then going and making their own comment on that persons page.

That majorly sucks.  

She is coming over today and I think I will have to talk to her about it.  I don't want to block her.  I think she is printing the pictures off the computer and taking them in to work.

Yea talk to her.  I guess in a way she doesn't find anything wrong with it since she is a grandma.

I am going to tell her I will start tagging her in cute pictures of C so that her friends can see her.  That way I can sort of control the pics and she can still brag about her granddaughter.

Make a shared shutterfly album and email her the pictures.  She CANNOT save pictures from there BUT CAN ORDER and BUY them.  Also you can have an automatic feature where it will send everyone you listed automatic updates when new pictures are put up.

You can "steal" any fb picture put up on it, simply by clicking save to my computer.

ALSO any album they were able to see before you restricted her she will still be able to see.  So if she wasn't restricted from Nov06-April08 any pictures you uploaded then are fair game.  Only pictures after April 08-present are blocked.  Just an example.  HTH

Thanks Navy.  I think I am just annoyed that someone who barely knows how to use a computer figured it out.  I thought I was safe with her lack of knowledge.  She sure fooled me.

if she clicks the "share" button that's in the bottom left corner when viewing a picture it will share it to her FB profile.  That's most likely how she did it.  I don't think there's a way to block people from sharing your photos, but you can do a search in the help section to see.

Couldn't find how to block the sharing but I found this:

To share an individual photo, click "Share" below the photo. Keep in mind that sharing an album or a photo does not change the privacy setting the album owner has set, so photos with restricted privacy will remain unavailable to friends who cannot already view them. 

I have my albums restricted to only friends so at least her friends won't be able to see the whole album.

BIL does this btw all the time.  I have a major peeve about this since when he was home on military leave he barely saw Jack but acts like his #1 fan in the virtual world.  The only thing that helps this is I only see him 2 weeks a year now for 5 years, and he may get sent to Africa soon.
