real estate Q for ppl living in Pasadena

Would someone share with me what Prescott Street is like? It's between Los Robles and El Molino, South of Washington Blvd, by Washington Park.

I sometimes like to browse Pasadena listings for historic homes and I found a huge one, dirt cheap, on this street. The house looks awesome, but I'm pretty unfamiliar with this neighborhood (Dh has a thing, if we were going to move to Pas he'd prefer a neighborhood East of Lake.)

What's this neighborhood/street like? established? family friendly? pride of ownership or up-and-coming or forget-it-the-neighbors-keep-camaros-on-blocks?

TIA!

Re: real estate Q for ppl living in Pasadena

  • Yeah, that ares is not so great. ?

You will get the pride of ownership people/family friendly people, mixed in with the apartment/keep your camaros on the blocks kind of people and you would definitely need a home security system.

This may not be the opinion of other for that area but it is definitely mine. I am a pasadena native. ?I was born here in pasadena too.

As far as east of Lake goes, when we were looking I wouldn't go west of Allen, which is a few blocks east of Lake. ?Not so many historic homes over here on the east side, but there are some nice ones.?

  • thanks michelle, I appreciate the input! so drat! it was a pretty fabulous house, but then with 6 bedrooms for $600,000, I should have been a little suspicious. I have to stop driving up and down Orange Grove admiring the million-dollar, hundred year old mansions!
