Updates?

I feel so disconnected! How's everyone doing? Ryan went back to work yesterday, my mom is here til Wednesday, then starting Thursday I'm on my own with the little peanut (she'll be 3 weeks old, can't believe it!). Carly's doing great, I'm still trying to figure her out, lol. And I miss other adults and getting out of the house. I'm sure in a few more weeks it'll get better.

Re: Updates?

  • I'm glad things are going well with Carly!

I'm just hanging out for now. Nothing new in my realm of the world. Work's keeping me semi-busy, but nothing I can't handle. Joe could still get deployed, so I'm waiting on pins and needles to hear about that. I'm starting a new workout plan so I can get into a fabulous bathing suit by the time I leave for Vegas in four months...we'll see how that goes. I'm debating taking a class in the fall to see if I can handle starting my Master's next year, too.

JJ is getting ridiculously big, and I can't believe he's closer to 2 1/2 [he'll be 2 1/2 in June] than he is to 2. I feel like the older he gets, the faster time flies. At this point in his young life, he's beginning potty training, saying almost every word you say [including the random bad one that slips], and he won't keep still for the life of him. I've started getting the baby itch again, but I'm content for another few months before we try again.

  • Glad to hear things are going well with Carly. I got stir crazy with Miss May in the first few weeks, too, especially since Clint was in the field all day. It really does get better every single day...it is still getting better- even though I think I'm having the most fun with her right now, she will be even more fun tomorrow!

I have been really busy at work. I have two grant applications due by the end of the month and we're in full force planning mode for our gala in October including soliciting sponsorships and auction items. We are in a budget crunch so I have been going to lots of meetings for that. I'm getting ready to relaunch the employee engagement program I took over so it doesn't look like things will be slowing down any time soon.

Planting season is almost here and Clint will be gone most days until 8 or 9 every night. I will probably go to town after work more often so I don't have to be at home by myself all the time! Hopefully we can start getting walks in after work.

  • Glad that everything is going great for you!  I got stir crazy too.  I would take him out shopping with me.  It was so easy, since he was usually asleep.

Will is now mobile, so we've been getting use to that. I had no idea that he could get into so much. We are going to start working on some sleep training.  We counted last night and he woke up 7! times to nurse. I've got to figure how how to cut down on that.

  • I have my f/u Dr's appt today.  I'm really nervous.  I know it will be fine, but DH is ready to get going again.  Me-not so much.

Robert has his 6 week check-up and shots on Friday.  I'm probably going to cry.  I've heard that babies can sleep like crazy after them.  Sadly, I thought today that may give me a good stretch of sleep.  He is still getting up every 3-4 hours to eat during the night.

  • Things are going well here.  Just trying to get past this immense sense of procrastination I've had lately with grad school.  I think the end is so close now, I've lost my drive.  I believe they call this senioritis :)  So, I've got to get past that.

My state certification test is Saturday....ahhhh!!!!!

DH's store is going well.  We have several more in the works and one that is getting very close to being finalized and hopefully will open in the fall.  This would be a huge financial help to us!

TTC is on hold for a little while I think.  We need to save up first to do the IUI.

Basically, we're just trying to survive right now :)

Don't be nervous. I didn't feel like myself for months after JJ was born. If you're not ready, you're not ready...I think your H will understand. :)

I cried during JJ's shots...but he did sleep a lot after the shots. I gave him some Tylenol before his shots, and that seemed to help...but he did get a fever after most of his shots, so I just kept up the Tylenol until his fever went down [it was a little fever]. He was much better the next day. Hang in there mama!

  • I'm glad to hear you're getting used to life with baby, Pam! I am petrified I am going to go stir crazy w/ the baby at home. But I am also petrified I am going to BITE MY MOTHER AND MILS heads off, I think they will be over all the time (everyone is local). So, hopefully once I get the OK to work out, and they are here, I will just go for a run or something.

Things here...work is work. It's hard to stay motivated right now when I know I will be on leave within 11.5 weeks (HOLY SH!T).

I'm still exercising 3-4 days a week, and still managed to gain 32 lbs so far. Ay yay yay. Had my GLT today. I'll find out tomorrow or Thursday the results...fingers crossed. All looks good with baby and I'm getting very big!!!!

I'm trying to make time for family and friends now, it's hard though because after working, after exercising, I'm beat...and I get sh!t from my mother when I do too much running (if I tell her that is) and if I don't do stuff with her, she gets pissy with me!!

Alyssa- my sister felt the same way as you. Ebonie/Melissa/Steph...how are you little ones getting so big already!???

Ashley...End of the tunnel is near!!! Just remember that!!!

  • Not much going on here.  Work has become draining because of the people I work with.  My team can't function as a team, so there has been a lot of drama lately.  Actually, there's been a lot of drama in the year+ since a certain azzwipe was hired.  I'm hoping DH gets a job soon so I can look for a new job...maybe.

Amelia just gets bigger and bigger everyday.  Yesterday her sitter showed me pictures of her ON TOP of the lego table.  It seems like everyday she finds something new that we need to baby-proof in some way.  I'm hoping to have the proofs from her 12-month pictures soon.

My baby-fever is steadily getting worse.  I'm ready to start on #2, but DH doesn't seem to be in a hurry.  I'm thinking it might be time for the two of us to sit down and figure out where we stand.

  • Mostly the same here. Still working my ass off at the day job (if only that was literal and I could apply it to waistline instead of ass - I don't mind my ass), and the face painting season is starting to really kick in again.

God bless you for getting up 7 times a night to nurse.  I'm currently up three times a night and I feel completely out of it when feeding.  I couldn't imagine 7.

You deserve an amazing Mother's Day gift.

  • I've been working my butt off, trying to prove I can handle the position I'm doing.  I'm still temping and trying to take my boss's job when she leaves, she's been grooming me for the job for about a month now.  I really hope they approve the postion for me soon.

  • We are settling in to a working mom routine again. It's been tough getting used to going back to work again. It's not the being away from Nate part, but the finding time/energy/memory to do all of those household management tasks part. Rodgers is picking up most of the things I don't have energy for, but he still uses my brain as his memory. I have no memory anymore though, so I started a notebook of lists called "Rachel's Brain." Includes things like to-do lists for the week, standard grocery list, weekly grocery list, how to pack Nate's diaper bag, when to pay the bills... Pregnancy is just super extra exhausting this time. My mom's babysitting over the weekend so that I can get some rest. Rodgers is working his regular shifts, so I'll have plenty of time to do that.

Our ultrasound for baby #2 is a week from Thursday! I'm excited to find out who it is in there. Rodgers won't really discuss names yet. We've had some very short conversations, like "what do you think of x?" "It's alright." The end.

ETA: Oh, Nate is walking well now, wearing shoes, saying a handful of words, and only lacks 1 first year molar, 1 canine, and his 2 year molars, then we'll be done with baby teething. :)
