Our darling foster puppy has been a bit of a handful to say the least. But I love him dearly, and he and Popeye are best buddies. Here's Proof:
Their wrestling matches have been known to last hours at a time:
But Foster Pup's severe separation anxiety has been the cause of a lot of stress. He has broken out of SIX kennels, chewed through zip ties, torn apart my house, eaten my blinds, shredded 2 dog beds, etc. I feel terrible that he is SO stressed when I leave. He is getting better at not howling nonstop when I am not home, but I have had neighbors call me when I am gone saying that they can hear him through 2 sets of walls. We are actually going to get him on meds to calm him down when we leave, because I am worried that the stress is going to cause him to hurt himself. We have literally tried EVERYTHING else. In the mean time, his kennel has become a maximum security lockdown. Halways has a cozy blanket, a kong full of treats, and the TV left on for comfort, but THIS is how he needs to be secured in:
Also, random story of the day, Foster Pup went to my friend's farm to play and "egged" on some chickens, who went after him and scratched his face. Poor pup! He finds trouble wherever he goes. ![]()
