I've been trying to keep up but lately I have had just enough time to read before I have to run. We have had a couple of big weeks lately so to increase the post count for today, I'll share.
One of the big things that happened is that DH got a new job! He is still with the same company but in a new dept. This means that he will be making twice as much and he will have every weekend off. We have been working opposite shifts since Amelia was born and we currently see each other every other weekend. Other than that, I see him for about 15 min before work, in passing after work, and a few min when he comes home if I am still awake. We are so excited to be able to spend time together again!
I went to the dr a few weeks ago and was diagnosed with post-partum depression. It is not something that I have shared with a lot of people IRL but I don't think it would come as a surprise. I have been working on my health a lot lately and am already starting to see some improvement. It's been a rough year and there are a lot of people who have been less than understanding. Some have been down right mean. Combined with the schedule our family has and lack of breaks, it has been hard.
I also applied for another promotion at work. This is getting really frustrating but my managers are remaining positive and I am trying to as well.
Amelia is doing really well. She is crawling like a maniac, pulling herself up on everything, and starting to eat table food. She loves to talk and just cut her 3rd tooth.
That's about it for now. Anyone else have big updates they would like to share?
Re: AW: Update on a busy couple of weeks
I'm glad you went and got a diagnosis and are focusing on your health. With the difficult circumstances regarding Amelia's birth and your in-laws, I think you're justified in removing anyone from your life who has not been supportive.
Hi Lucky!
First I just want to give you a big hug! I am glad you got help, a diagnosis and are working on getting better. Like Steph said cut out the people who are not there to support you. You have had a rough year and only deserve to be around people who love, support you and will be positive, not mean.
Second, yay for DH's promotion and being able to spend more time together. That's great.
Third, good luck on the promotion. Any idea when you'll know?
Any new Amelia pics? Glad to hear she's doing great too. When is she turning one? Soon right?
Glad you popped in to catch up. If you ever need to talk, feel free to message me.
(((Hugs)))
So glad you're seeking help for PPD. I can't even imagine PPD on top of everything else you've dealt with this past year.
So great about your H's promotion!!

Lucky, I think it's great you're seeking help for your PPD. I am amazed by your strength and courage with everything you've had to deal with, and I think this is absolutely the right thing to do. I always think of the Scrubs episode where Carla is trying to deny her PPD -- it's incredibly frank and honest. One character (I think it's Dr. Cox's wife Jordan) finally sits her down and says "This isn't something you can handle with a plucky can-do attitude. You need some real help."
Anyway, I'm glad to hear about all the positive things going on for you, especially your husband's promotion! That's awesome!
And I add my "ditto" to the request for more Amelia pics.
Lucky, I'm so sorry you've been having such a rough time, but I'm glad you're getting help. ((hugs)) Continue working on you, and hopefully things will only get better from here.
What's the birthday theme?!
