Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

Our basement is wet and it's getting into our foundation so we need to get a sump pump installed. First quote was $4,200 (ouch!). Anyone have suggestion for who to go through? We want to get a few estimates before going through with a project like that!
Edit: I should add that that price was for doing the tile around the whole perimeter of our basement. Not a total rip-off since it's a huge project!
Re: sump pump?
you can buy a smaller one, if you have a drain, or way to get it to go outside. We had to buy 2 for when my grandma's basement flooded last summer.
If you live in Des Moines, the city is offering a rebate program for installing a sump pump - pretty sure it's around $1000. So that would take out some of the sting! There is more info here:
