Anyone have fun plans for the summer? Vacations? Fun "to-do" lists?
We are toying with the idea of going to San Antonio for a week. They have a lot of family-friendly stuff to do. Fingers crossed it works out since we're in the market for a new vehicle. I also plan to read at least one book a week between the time this semester ends and the fall begins. I really miss reading for fun!
I know I mentioned earlier that N & I are going to do a swimming class in June. And I want to start/finish her baby book. I have a friend having a baby in May so I definitely want to take a road trip to see her. As well as some other fun stuff with the girl such as finger painting, the zoo, the aquarium. I can't wait!
Re: Summer time!
No real plans - our anniversary is labor day weekend, so we may make a short baby-free trip somewhere.
We're planning on getting a small above ground pool at some point, hopefully the babies will be ready for water wings/arm floaties. Last summer they loved their inflatable seats with shades, but I'm sure they will be tumbling out of them this summer.

We're hoping to go away somewhere, no real plans yet though. Nothing expensive either, we're saving up to hopefully go to Disney either next year or year after. Age four is our goal to go.
Otherwise, we'll be going to the pool, playing in the yard baby pool/sprinklers and going to the beach here in central LA. Yep, we have a beach and it's pretty nice! I foresee lots of trips there this year!
Oh, and potty training. Elise is NOT into it. Hope to get her potty trained by her third birthday. I ask her if she wants to wear her big girl panties and she says "No thank you, I wear didee."
I thought of something else. I want to get back in the kitchen and try out some of my bookmarked recipes. And clean out our guest bedroom/closet/office. I shuddered just typing that.
ETA: One more thing! We got a new macbook pro and I am determined to learn how it works, get all my pictures on here and organized. Ok, that's all.
Please don't tell me you are getting rid of the swagger wagon already?!? or is Mr.Shoe getting new wheels?
I would love to do a swimming class with whitley but there is nobody around here that does the parent-child lessons. I of course will be bringing her to the pool a bunch, but that isn't the same as doing it with other kiddos.
We are going to the beach in July with the in-laws again this year. Last year was the first time they had taken a family vacay since Dusty was like 14 and they loved getting to watch Whitley in the pool and sand.... so we will definitely be headed back!
No way, jose. I love my swagger wagon so much, you'll have to pry it from my cold, dead hands. It's for MrShoe.
Take swimming lessons with us!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ditto!! I told DH that I can totally see myself being one of those women whose children are grown and she still drives around in a mini-van! I love mine!
I don't know how people with children survive without one. (The rest of you may stop rolling your eyes now.) We were looking at a vehicle last night and the sales guy asked if we were looking to replace the van. I was like, "over my dead body, schmuck."
its my 27 miles to the gallon that helps me survive. and i don't usually have a ton of stuff in there either. (done with my eye rolling)
as for my summer, no real big plans. our big family vacation is next year.
i'll probably take weekend trip to Orange Beach at some point since we have a free place to go to.
Between next Wednesday and May 14 - NOTHING
After graduation, my study group is going to the beach for a week getaway.
After that, it's study, study, study until the end of July.
After that, it's pray, pray, pray that I passed the bar. I may be open to full-time babysitting August - October, so let me know if anyone is interested

We're going to Perdido Key with DH's family in June. I have 8 weeks to lose as much weight as possible.

In August I plan on having the most kickass 1st birthday party ever, for a pretty kickass little girl.
We are going to Gulf Shores in May and I'm so excited about it. This will be our first trip alone since our honeymoon.
I'm also going to NYC in late July/early August with all of the women in my husband's family. I'm a little nervous about it because I don't usually do well with lots of people in small areas and we are sleeping 5 to a normal sized hotel room. However, I'm trying to be optimistic about it.
Let me know if you need any help!
Bboe - that sounds like hell. Is there anyway you and one other person can get a room to yourselves?
