Over the past year ASU and Nike have teamed up to ensure Sun Devil Athletics is
represented as an elite, 21st century brand. Tomorrow, that work will be
revealed on the Tempe Campus. With a standing room only crowd expected, Fox
Sports Arizona will be webcasting the event live so all Sun Devil fans can see
what all the buzz is about.

I am not a fan of the changes.....I miss Sparky and I am not digging the black uniforms
Call me old school but I'm going to miss Sparky on the helmet too. Thank goodness they're not getting rid of him all together or I would have cried.
I'm a bit confused because from this slideshow it looks like there are Maroon home uniforms, white road ones...when do they wear the black ones?
sparky is still on the helmet, just on the back opposite the pac12 logo.
I actually like the new helmets.

I was missing Sparky too, but I really like the look of the new uniforms. I also like that the black is a "sometimes" look, and that they still have two more traditional uniforms incorporating maroon and gold still.
I'm super excited that you said that Sparky is still on the helmet! I didn't know that! Now I'm loving the new look even more!

jajasundevil: at a meeting yesterday I went to before they officially launched the new logo and uniforms, Lisa Love said that all of the uniforms could be used interchangeably and using all black would be for opportunities when we (the fans) would do a black out of the stadium!!
They talked a lot about the fact that ASU had too many logos/scripts, and everyone identified with something different. Her example was that when people saw the longhorn symbol, they know the university is University of Texas. ASU wanted to create a logo that was just as strong and powerful, that people would identify with Arizona State.
Also, the old uniforms would have Arizona above the number and State below the number. When players were on television, often all you would see is "Arizona" - and as Lisa Love said... who wants to do free advertisement for that university down south. So now (even though its a lot of letters) - it will always say "Arizona State" or "Sun Devils" together above the number.
Just some random ramblings since I am a little bored at work
