Anyone work with someone who lies? I have a coworker who exaggerates, gossips, and flat out lies to my boss about myself and other coworkers. She told my boss last week that "(my name) freaked out and took the paperwork from me." THIS WAS A TOTAL LIE! I asked her if she needed help (calmly) and she asked if I could finish counting money and doing a report. Sure, no problem.
Then she tells my boss I freaked out and took the paperwork from her.
Myself and two other coworkers have caught onto her lies. She also makes a HUGE deal about nothing and calls my boss to tattle on people. This woman is 47 years old. To top it all off, she always says, "I have so much to do," then sits in our back office, yells at her son on the phone, visits with her gf, and does work for her other job!
WWYD?

I have a problem with the fact that my boss allows her to call her personal cell number and gossip during work hours about other employees.
I think my boss listens to her, because the last conversation I had with my boss was about the incident with my coworker (as related by my coworker).
Do you have an HR department to bring this up with?
Yes, this coworker has even lied to my superintedent (I work for a park district).
I am THISCLOSE to going to HR. Do I need to bring TONS of documentation?
Thank you!

Thanks ladies-this is just one more reason I am starting my own business. Hopefully not too much longer with the district. I cannot stand "office politics."
