I hate new payments.

It makes me nervous! No matter how many times I figure our budget, a new payment always makes me nervous until the first one is paid and I am assured everything is fine. Ugh. I was so happy to be car payment free, but the transmission is pretty much dead in DH's car, and he's driving at least an hour to work each week, so we decided to suck it up and get me a new car so that he could have the Altima. Oh well...at least I got a good one! Now if I can just stop biting my nails! On a happy note, when we purchased our house, our payment dropped almost $80!

Re: I hate new payments.

  • yay on saving $80, buying the house and getting a new car.

You'll figure it out with the car...at least it's an amount that won't change month to month..those are the ones that drive me nuts.

  • I am nervous each month, but once I did a budget and saw that it was actually working I feel better.

  • I saw on FB your new ride. Very nice we are actually looking at those or the Buick Enclave. How do you like it so far with 2 kids?

Yeah we have not had a car payment since the first year of our marriage and I really like it that way so I am nervous about having to get me a new car now.

  • any type of required monthly payment makes me nervous. neither of us have ever had a car payment, thankfully. dh worked in high school and saved up to buy his outright(it's a 94 transam) and my wonderful grandmother paid in full for my used car when I graduated high school. we're still holding out with them!

We have emergency money saved up, which could go towards getting a new car if we had to, but we'll start a specific car savings fund as soon as this last student loan is paid off. looking forward to getting rid of that monthly payment for sure!

I so badly wished we lived somewhere with public transportation!

  • Congrats on the car and house!
