I am SO sorry - I said I was going to post this last week, and I never did! I know you probably already made it, or your bananas are now black, but for future reference...here it is!
My great grandmother's banana bread recipe:
1/2 c shortening
1 c sugar
2 eggs
3/4 c mashed bananas
1 1/4 c flour
3/4 teas baking soda
1/2 teas salt
nuts (I don't always add these)
Bake at 350 in small bread loaf pans (I have a stack of foil ones, and it usually makes 4 or 5 loaves, I think) for 45-50 minutes.
Like I said, so bad for you, but it's delicious!
And let me just say that we have four bananas that are past the point of eating that would be perfect for this right now. Unfortunately, we still cannot use our kitchen, so no chance of me getting any right now ![]()
