The day before we left my transmission went out on the Ford Fusion.
I guess I am thankful that it went out then vs being somewhere between here and Charelston.
Thankfully, my car is still under warranty and Ford is paying for everything, except one little thing. Mileage.
They were only going to give me a Ford Focus to dive for a week with mialge for a week at 1050. It's 834 from my house to Charleston. B spent 3 hours on the phone trying to figure something out. Ford was being a couchbag. I get where they are coming from that it wasn't there fault we were leaving on vacation, so why should we get more miles. After we use the 1050 miles it was 25 per mile after that.
B didnt want to drive a focus, so we upgraded and have to pay the difference of $22/day to $35/day. Whatever. Whatver makes B happy I guess. By this time our salesman called back and said that since we were such loyal customers, he was going to spilt the cost of the mileage overage fees. So that made us happy.
When we got back yesterday, B called about my car. They havent even touched it yet. The parts arent in. Um, the parts are made in Detroit! Again, whatever.
So, I get to keep the Charger and I get another 1050 miles, which will balance out the overage miles.
I guess in the end, everything is working out and everything happened at the best time. I just wish I had my car back and I think it is crappy of Ford to not give you a rental that is comparable.
Oh, and on the way down to SC, a stupid semi thru a rock up at the windsheild and it took out a big ole chunck. So when we got there we had to stop and get it fixed.![]()
Re: My car issues
Wow, what a fiasco!!! Very glad to hear it's going to work out in the end, though.
Oh, and I don't blame B for not wanting to drive a Focus. That's the rental that J has right now and he haaaates it. haha.
