What do you do with yours? Another message board I frequent I was surprised to see how many people just spend it on clothes, etc. Like the WHOLE thing. I usually take 100 out of mine and spend it on anything I want, but everything else goes into our savings account.
Re: Tax Refund
Drew's company doesn't take out enough for his state taxes, so a chunk of our federal refund the past three years has gone to covering that. He's going to talk to his payroll dept to see about fixing it.
Once that's taken care of, we usually do a really nice dinner out, and then the rest goes into savings. Especially now with student loans looming in the not so distant future, building up the savings is very appealing.

Our embarassing large refund is going toward tile and installation on our bathroom remodel. It's really savings though, it's just nice to not have to pull from the home improvement fund and instead use the refund.
We really should adjust ours more, but DH is all worry wart about owing. I adjusted my with holdings a little and then just upped my savings allotment from my paycheck for the increase.

I still have to adjust ours big time. Mine is too little (I would have owed) and dh's is a LOT.

Ours always goes right into savings. The last two years, we have used some of it to pay our state's tax.

DH is all worried about the mortgage interest deduction going away. Last year we had the energy credit, this year we'll have a lot of donations. Plus all of our retirement contributions. I don't know where he gets the worry from, but I have to pick my battles.

Ours usually goes straight to our savings account, but since this is our first year in the new house, it went to getting new living room furniture (which we needed...the other was broken and on its last leg) and paying off Rusty's credit card since I've already paid mine off. We finally sold our old house, so we recieved profit from that as well, so it made up for it and now that money is in savings.
I couldn't imagine spending all of that on clothing. What the heck! Rusty would kill me. The rest of the money will be saved for emergencies and for when we have a baby...

Ours goes into savings or pays part of a CC off. I still haven't done them this year because I was stressing out about them, so I made an appointment today!!! finally...
