cake question

I'm planning a KU graduation cake and I was thinking about making it a three layer vanilla cake with one layer filling blueberry and the other layer filling a raspberry. (red and blue school colors) Then a vanilla butter cream frosting.

What do you think? Would two different filling layers be too much or would that work?

Re: cake question

  • If you are using canned filling, you will want to thin it out a lot (juice or alcohol works well).

If you can find jam, that would work better.

Make all three cake layers the same size and ensure that the jam layer is 1/3 (or less) the thickness of the cake layers.

Make sure that you taste the two jams together to ensure that you like the combined flavor.

Take pictures, your idea will look gorgeous.

  • that sounds absolutely delicious to me!!  if you have any left-over, send it my way :o)
