Traditional Anniversary Gifts

Anyone here do the traditional anniversary gifts? Our 2nd anniversary is Tuesday and I did a paper gift for our first one.  This one is cotton and I was wondering if anyone follows it and what they got?  I was looking for something creative.

Re: Traditional Anniversary Gifts

  • I sort of did the traditional thing...my DH's original wedding band was white gold and it was really scratched up.  I made him an origami ring out of paper and told him that he could trade that into me for another ring of his choice (he ended up getting tungsten).  Kind of a weird way to do it, but I was trying to be creative!  Our 2nd anniversary is coming up, too...so I'm thinking of things.  Just with a quick google, I found this: http://www.happy-anniversary.com/year-of-marriage/year-two.html   I really like the hammock.  OR you could get some sexy cotton panties and just wear those as your present to him.  Haha, that suggestion actually came from my hubby.

  • for our second anniversary I got DH a set of REALLY nice egyptian cotton sheets.  I had washed them and put them on the bed he thought I had forgotten to get him a present until he went to bed.  There was a bow on the pillow and a card.  He was really happy with that.
  • My friend got her DH a painting on canvas
  • we usually dont' do much for gifts because we plan a weekend getaway.  But we do buy something little and sorta silly for the traditional gifts.   DH is actually the one who wanted to do it.   For instance last year (2nd, cotton) I got him funny socks and he got me mittens.

  • We did sheets as well.
  • How about some cotton boxer shorts?  Wink  Haha.

I'm going to try to stick with the "traditional" gifts if I can.  Let us know what you end up doing.

  • We are traveling for our 2nd anniversary (next month!), don't think we are going to do gifts.

Let us know what you decide!

  • Ok is I decided to get us some new sheets.  I figured we can both use them and I had a leftover Bed Bath and Beyond gift card from our wedding so it was economical!  Not that creative I know but they are nice and it's one of those things that you don't buy as often as you should!

    Thanks ladies!! Smile

  • For our second anniversary, I got DH a Buffalo Bills t-shirt (cotton) along with tickets to go and see the game in Miami when Buffalo played there last year.

Good choice. :-) I love this idea. I think when my two-year anniversary rolls around, I'm definitely going to have to drop this hint with my husband. I have always wanted a really high thread-count set. Happy anniversary!
