We have 2 baggus and 2 cloth reusable Whole Foods bags that we use on a regular basis, but could use 2-3 more grocery bags for our bigger shopping trips. Which are your favorites for bringing groceries home? I prefer bigger bags (more akin to a paper bag shape) with long straps over smaller ones like baggus.
Thanks so much!
Re: Favorite grocery bags?
Tired after a long morning of hiking and swimming.
I like a variety. I have a mesh one i use for greens and easily damaged produce, a packable one that i keep in my backpack/purse (chicobag) and a variety of canvas ones. My favorite is a canvas one with two short handles and a long one.
Of the paper-bag-shaped ones i have several that are recycled plastic and a couple of the typical trader joes ones. I don't care for them as much, though they don't tip over/spill in the car, which is nice. The only one of this variety that i really like isn't sold anymore, but it's perfect and i would have bought a whole set if i'd known how great they are -- i use it for library books, the park, errands, groceries... everything. http://bp2.blogger.com/_M4kLYcJUnH4/Rh1q_KGXmpI/AAAAAAAACBo/EnEtkq8Fcq8/s1600-h/green+bag.JPG

I bought a few of the Sahalie ones on a whim one day. I love them! I even brought them on vacation to China/Hong Kong. They're being green in HK too, you have to pay for shopping bags!
I love that they roll up and I can either clip them to my bag (what I did on vacation), or throw it in my other reusable shopping bags when I do big grocery runs.
Whatever ones I can get my hands on. DH thinks Im a bag hoarder. I easily have enough reusable shopping bags to handle a $3-400 grocery trip. Not that I would ever spend that much, but I know how much I normally spend and how many bags I have left.
I do have specific favorites though.
LOL mine too. I had like a dozen, and I pared that down a few weeks ago. Somehow I got back up to the same amoutn
i have 5 of these: http://www.reuseit.com/store/reuseit-earthtote-recycled-p-788.html
they are HUGE and i usually only need 2 for my bi-weekly grocery shopping trips. they aren't exactly cheap, but i've been using them weekly since 2008 and they still look brand new. they are also machine washable. LOVE THEM!
Personally, I love these ones from Granite Gear - they have short handles, but they are super light and portable - I keep one or two in my purse all the time.
I have one from REI that I really like as well, it has 2 sets of handles in two different lengths and it stands up by itself for easy bagging.
