Nocturnal randoms
It's 11:20 pm, and I know that the day randoms thread is done being read, so... I'm doing a pm version
So the building I was curious about (the one on the same corner as Celebration Cinema north, just west of where Bostons was) is going to be the Social Security Admin. building. Bah - boring. Also? Not sure how excited I am knowing that that kind of rent is being supported by taxes. It's got to be expensive there.
I just saw on the news that Marshall Redder (local realtor) was found dead tonight.
I spent 5 hours on Monday doing centerpieces for an event on Tuesday. I lost fingertip skin to a dumb hot glue gun incident, and stayed up until 2am to get them done. When I got to the event, with the centerpieces in tow, I was told they decided not to do those... nice to be told ahead of time... gr.

I'm enjoying the springtime weather out here. I'm taking up jogging in the local parks - it's a lot of fun for me.
I heard that on the radio this morning. He shot himself. Yikes.
I have been up since 4 am to take the H to the airport in GR. He is headed south for a 4 day weekend in the sun. I am extremely jealous.

I've never heard of Marshall Redder, but apparently he's pretty well known around these parts.
So sorry to hear about the centerpieces. I would be pretty livid, if I were you. That's awful that they didn't communicate with you their change of plans.
I think Marshall Redder is a big real estate person around here.
Does anyone know anyone going to that event at the Van Andel today? It seems quite interesting. I wish I had known about it earlier.

A "Get Motivated!" seminar (I think it's specifically about business/entrepreneurs). Speakers include Rudy Guiliani and Colin Powell. It was expected to have a huge turn out and is subsequently tying up traffic downtown.
Marshal Redder was a huge Real Estate person in the GR area for years. If I remember right he was 1 of, if not the #1 realtor for ReMax during the 80's and early 90's before going out on his own. I wonder if he really shot himself or if someone else did him in. He was in some hot water in the legal system.
The event downtown is a big Motivational Speaking engagement.

They said, "oh, we decided not to do those because we didn't have enough interest from other organizations." I almost broke my contract then and there. Gr.
We got back in yesterday evening. It was a great trip, but I really want to go back and do more (and preferably in better weather.) We did a ton though! Boston was awesome and we had great weather on Sunday. We could have spend another day or two there - we missed a couple things we wanted to do/see. The mountains in NH are gorgeous. We hiked to a really pretty waterfall up in the mountains (still a ton of snow up there) and saw some moose! Then we were fairly close to Portland Maine, so we thought "why not?" and had a lobster dinner and did a little shopping downtown/on the waterfront. We definitely could have spent more time in Portland. Another day we headed to Vermont and took a mini-tour of a maple syrup farm and bought some syrup (yum).
Ha, I could probably talk about the trip all day. It was great. T did really well, considering his age. He was a trooper, with his interrupted schedule and all. It was *amazing* being able to spend 5 whole days in a row with him. Amazing. He learns new words everyday and is such a joy to be around!
I love Portland. Dont you love Maine? I grew up there!

Nope, nothing planned. I went to Savannah in February and Chicago a couple of weeks ago. We don't have anything else planned at this time.

I am tired after a late night of good fun with friends - I've had a rough time with sleep this week and got less that 6 hours for 3 out of 4 nights now. I'm such a wimp with lack of sleep - I don't know how Mamas w/crying and nursing babies function.
