    What would you recommend to a newbie fitness person as the number one thing to incorporate in their new lifestyle? Clean eating -- cut out as much processed junk as possible

    Is YH at the same fitness/health level as you? Does he like the same things? No -- he is much more fit than I am! haha

    Why do you workout (weight loss, enjoy it, health benefits)? All of the above! I'm trying to get within a healthy weight range for my height - 11lbs to go, I think? I dunno, it's in my ticker Stick out tongue

    What is your favorite workout? I've fallen in love with running.

    Do you have a dream race to enter in? I'm seriously thinking about running the Rock'N'Roll Half Marathon this August - we'll see if I can successfully train for that, though. I'd LOVE to do the Chicago Marathon one day. Maybe next year!

    What would you recommend to a newbie fitness person as the number one thing to incorporate in their new lifestyle? Find something you enjoy! I can't tell you how many times I'd start a workout routine and not follow it because I was doing something I didn't really like. I also think taking it slow is an awesome idea - I started following the Couch to 5k program and it helped ease me in to running.

    Is YH at the same fitness/health level as you? Does he like the same things? My H is studying to be a PE teacher, so he's a lover of all things sports-related. He was super fit in HS and kind of fell out of his workout routine in college. Now, we're both getting more active and he even comes on some runs with me! But he's still more athletic than I am, just because he used to be active and I never was.

    What is your favorite workout? absolutely swimming 1000%

    Do you have a dream race to enter in? Right now, I'm working on a half marathon for the fall, but I would love to do a duathlon or triathlon. i also want to do a ragnar relay that is 192 miles split up between 12 people over 24 hours.

    What would you recommend to a newbie fitness person as the number one thing to incorporate in their new lifestyle? take it slow, and keep at it. being healthy isn't easy, but its worth it. also, do some reasearch, and don't do stupid things like eat too little, or think that pills or other quick fixes will do anything long term.

    DH is so far beyond me. He's doing a half iron man in june, and a full iron man in september. then a marathon in october.

    Do you workout? I did. I tried doing the most basic stretch today and bend over at my hips to touch my toes and was in excruciating pain.

    Why do you workout (weight loss, enjoy it, health benefits)? I have lots of obese family members and my mom has always been a health nut because of that, so it's partly habit. I love the way I can just have an hour of time a day to myself.

    What is your favorite workout? running. 

    Do you have a dream race to enter in? At this point, any race. The kinesiologist I saw the other day told me that I basically have to give up running on pavement. ever again. I can do trail running eventually, so maybe I'll do some X-terra trail races in the future - they look fun.

    What would you recommend to a newbie fitness person as the number one thing to incorporate in their new lifestyle? Stretching. No matter if you think it's a waste of time or you haven't worked out hard enough to need to stretch - you need to. 

    Is YH at the same fitness/health level as you? Does he like the same things? I work a lot harder than my H, but he has a natural athleticism that I will never have. He can go out and run 4-5 miles and not bat an eyelash. For me to run the 6-7 miles that I was was hard work for me.

  • Do you workout? Not as regularly as I should. I want to start the C25K program now that it's warm enough to run outside.

    Why do you workout (weight loss, enjoy it, health benefits)? I need to. Type 2 Diabetes runs in the family, as well as obesity and other issues.

    What is your favorite workout? I just started Body By Bethenny, which is a yoga video. I love it. I think if I started running I would love that too.

    Do you have a dream race to enter in? Ehhhhh maybe the NYC Marathon? I don't know if I'll ever get there.

It's really quite sad. I am going on a week-long horseback riding trip in Finland this summer and it occurred to me that I will probably keel over and die if I don't start getting my energy up.What is your favorite workout?I don't have a favorite, as I really don't like working out. When I do, I go to the gym and use the elliptical machine because it's the option I find least threatening at this point.Do you have a dream race to enter in?Nooooooo!
