Do you have an opinion on Brazillian waxes?

My personal/prof. opinon of them is that they are very unsanitary. It is very rare for estheticians to wax properly out of sheer laziness, and bc of this it's just gross IMO. I had statistics somewhere on how there was a very big increase of infections (yeast and bacterial) when brazilians became popular here. If an esthetician does not use a clean stick after every single wax application (not customer, but every time they put wax on you) they are violating state board regulations, and are creating a giant vat of other peoples hair, skin and bacteria. Gross.

I think I just threw up a little in my mouth.

Not like I was considering having one done, but that totally seals the deal for me.  No way, no how.

I have to agree. Totally not worth it.  I'll keep using my good old razor.

This is why you get laser hair removal at a doctor's office instead!

But it is horrible, horrible pain......way worse than waxing.....

  • I'm with Mary that I think it's pretty sketchy sanitation-wise.

And feel free to ignore my potentially TMI question, but do they go all around and in your crevices?  I would imagine so or else you'd end up with a ridge of hair on the edge of your labia, but jeez.  That's up close and personal with hot wax!
