Azaleas in pots - Do ppl do this?
I love azaleas and want a small bush in an area we can't plant them deep enough (a slightly raised garden section of our patio).
I've seen they're pretty cheap in 1 gallon pots. Can I buy one and plant it in a large pot or do azaleas need to be in the ground?
Re: Azaleas in pots - Do ppl do this?
Yes, they do very well in pots. The thing to remember about azaleas is that they want well-draining soil.
Azaleas have very fibrous, shallow roots and can do very well heeled-in, in composted organic mulch. They should NOT be planted deep.
