s/o Easter dinner - anyone have a good "jello thing" recipe?
Especially if it involves Cool Whip!
My grandma made one that was green w/Cool Whip and an orange one that had Cool Whip and I believe a jar of apricot baby food was involved.
I would ask my mom, but if I can avoid consulting with her, it can be a fun surprise.
Re: s/o Easter dinner - anyone have a good "jello thing" recipe?
This is my jello thing.
2 cups boiling water, divided
2 pkg. (3 oz. each) Raspberry Jell-O
1C Sprite or sparkling soda
1/2 cup cold water
ice cubes
1 cup thawed whipped topping
small handfull of raspberries
Mix 1 cup boiling water to 1 pkg. gelatin mix in medium bowl; stir 2 min. until completely dissolved. Stir in 1 cup soda and raspberries; pour into cups. Refrigerate 1 hour or until gelatin is firm.
While that's chilling, add remaining boiling water to remaining gelatin mix; stir 2 min. until completely dissolved. Add enough ice to cold water to measure 1 cup. Add to gelatin; stir until thickened. Stir in whipped topping; spoon over gelatin layer in cups. Refrigerate 3 hours or until firm.
Decorate with some fun sprinkles or a little shaving of dark chocolate.
