On a personal note, I was quite happy at the library yesterday... when I returned my over-due book on CD of Atlas Shrugged, I said something like "I just noticed on my account that apparently this wasn't renewable when I did 'renew all,' sooo I think I owe you some money." The guy at the desk checked everything in and said "You're all set!" ... I knew I had a fine, probably the max of $4 since my other items were due AGAIN today, so that's 3 weeks late for the other.... So I ask "I don't have a fine?" ... He gives me I'm-not-supposed-to-do-this face and shh's me and says it's taken care of.
So, personally glad to keep my $4... But uhm, I'm pretty sure you guys are facing having a branch closed, and hours/staff slashed by a good bit. Is this REALLY the time to be forgiving fines??
