MRS EAM

Can you tell me about the group you are training with for the half?

I'll be running in the OUC (5k) in Dec... and my 'running' buddy and I are hoping to do the half next yr.

 

(she and i have never ran but we are training for the 5k now with the couch to 5k program)

  • I'm training with a group out of Front Running Sports in Lake Mary. We run Tuesday mornings, Thursday evenings and do a long run Saturday mornings, all in the Sanford/Lake Mary area. The husband and wife who lead the group also own the store and are super nice and helpful.

    Track Shack in Orlando also does several running programs, but all the longer programs take place in Orlando or Winter Park and are waaaaaay too far for me! Those are the only two I know about.

  • Thanks for the info.... Winter Park is not far from me, so I may look into that. How long have you been running? Since i just started i think i'll wait until i have finished the C25k program, so that i am more likely to be on pace with the rest of the group

  • I ran my first 5K in Jan. 06 and my first 10k in Oct. 07. I've also done a few sprint triathlons, but I'm in no way a fast runner or great athlete! With the shorter distances I run a 10 min. mile, but now that we are doing longer runs, I'm up to 10:30 or so. The training group has really helped me though, there is no way I'd be able to push myself to add on the miles without it! Good luck and feel free to page me if you have any questions :)
