MIL vent

She works part-time but is always complaining how busy she is. We've told her that she needs to ask in advance/plan visits now bc of Carly ( as opposed to just dropping in like she used to). Well she just called to ask if she can come over this afternoon. Fine, whatever. But she's just been so busy she didn't have a chance to call earlier in the week and she wishes she could just be like me right now and stay home all day holding the baby. Yes, because that's all my days entail. Insert annoyed face here. Grrr.

Re: MIL vent

  • Did she forget about the diapers, spit up, crying stuff?  That's annoying of her!

How's it going being at home without Ryan or your mom right now?  I know it's frustrating not getting out of the house.  When can you get out of house arrest?

  • Feeding, carrying, entertaining, talking to, reading to a baby is all exhausting! Great, but exhausting. Your MIL is nuts.
  • It's surprising how easily they forget.  I bet you MIL would've smacked someone if they'd made the same comment to her back when she was raising kids.

  • Wait, so maternity leave isn't a vacation where I get to lay around watching TV and eating bonbon's all day?

Sorry she's being so ridiculous. Maybe have her feed and change Carly while she's there? Or at least do one stinky diaper!

  • Ugh! she said 1:30 and 45 min later she is still not here. Carly's going to need to eat again soon. I nursed in front of her once before bc she had just gotten here but I don't want to make a habit of it. And she showed up while I was typing. said figures she's sleeping. Yes! She's a newborn, that's what they do when not eating, crying and screaming. Let the fun begin!
  • Oh goodness. So sorry!

Thanks for asking. It's going fine so far, but we've had visitors both days, lol. Ryan comes home for lunch too, which is nice. My 5 week appt is at the end of the month. I can probably drive now, but still can't lift her in her carrier. I'm hoping May brings some freedom, lol.
