Darn it!!

I had two strawberries that were getting ripe and ready to be picked. I took DD out there today to get them, and they were gone!! I'm guessing the squirrels got them b/c there was part of a chewed up one in the pot next to my strawberry plant. :-( I know netting can keep birds out, but is there anything that will keep the squirrels from sampling?

I'm sorry they got pilfered. I wish I had a good solution, but I pretty much expect that I'll never beat the squirrels, birds and insects. It's one of the reasons I don't grow much food anymore.

  • We use netting designed to keep birds, squirrels, etc off of our strawberries.  Unfortunately, sometimes an animal will get caught in the net and we had some fatalities.
