Does anyone have the magic bullet blender system?

I really like smoothies but our blender is kind of a pain to use and it's so big and bulky and I find that I dont use it because I dont feel like washing it.

How does it do with frozen drinks? One of the reviews said it just moves the ice cubes around in circles and doesn't really crush it. Is that accurate?

I have the one that is similar but is the JCP brand. We got it for xmas from a gift exchange. We love it. I think it is a fraction of the cost of the magic bullet.

We have it - I'm not really a fan. The infomercial makes it seem amazing, and it does get the job done, but it take a lot longer than they advertise. For instance, we had some leftover heavy cream from a meal and decided to make the mousse. It took so long...minutes of  whipping - not the 30 seconds it says in the recipe book. Smoothies took a bit of time to make too, and it never got them completely smooth which I need. I hate chunks in my smoothies.  I'd say, given enough time is does crush the ice, but it's not "magical" in its speediness or smoothness.

My mom has it - its okay. I much prefer my immersion blender.

Haven't tried the Bullet, but I WILL second Becky on the immersion blender love!  I hate pulling out our big blender too b/c it's such a pain to wash afterwards, but the immersion blender is great.

I hate the Magic Bullet.  It doesn't crush ice and even when you're using it for other stuff, you can smell the motor working too hard.  We had it for about a year, used it just a couple of times because it never worked good enough and then got a really good blender.

Ditto on the immersion blender... I think mine was like $30 and came with a little cup for single-size smoothies. SO easy to clean.

Glad I asked! I've never heard of an immersion blender before this. So this would work for smoothies, but would you be able to mix frozen drinks (i.e. crush ice) with one of these gadgets also?
