So on the way home from Billy's, H called and said some of our friends wanted to grab lunch at the beach.  So about an hour after I got home, we ended up heading that way again and after we grabbed lunch, I suggested we find out how to get to the place across from Billy's and go there.  So we went to Crazy Fish.

OMG.  What a shithole. lol

We had fun and the view was great, but I totally see what you mean about it being "odd."  We had to practically beg for drinks from our non-server.  Just a very weird place.

Re: *clseale*

  • I saw your pic on FB! Big Smile Yeah, It's a great place if you're just looking to grab a beer on the water...but it's so odd. We were so confused by the whole thing when we walked in. It's just very different than what the website looks like. We actually got our drinks at the "bar" (can you call it that?) and then went & sat on the deck.

It's cool that they have kayak rentals. I think DH and I are going to try that on the intracoastal soon, but it seems like they're trying to be a million different things all at once. Leah said their food is actually pretty good though.

  • sorry you had a bad experience! maybe we just get good service since we know the owner... he used to own a palm tree business, I think this is his first time with a restaurant.

Everyone was very nice when we were there...I think it's just more of a self serve hole in the wall place. That's totally cool (we'll probably grab a few drinks there after kayaking) but the webiste makes it look like it's a typical restaurant. It's just odd at first if that's not what you're expecting. I always love finding places on the water though. Jax has far too few of them.

  • I totally missed that you knew the owner, Leah.  I'm sorry.  Wow, foot in mouth.

Like clseale said, it was just confusing.  You order when you walk in like a sandwich place, but then sometimes a guy comes by to ask if you need anything... but he's not your server?  Then when we were at the bar (or counter), no one would talk to us.  It was just very weird.

But again, the views were fantastic and we actually had a really good time people watching at the boat ramp!  And the drinks were cheap.  Yes
