How do you clean your laminate floors? I always mopped my tile with a mop and Lysol, but I heard that you shouldn't mop the laminate. I bought a Swiffer mop and I'm extremely unhappy with it. It streaks really bad and I feel like it doesn't get clean! I tried 3 different types of their cleaner (including the hardwood) and keep getting the same result. I also think that it makes the surface look extremely dull. I looked into the steam mops, but there are mixed reviews about whether or not they should be used on laminate.
Re: Cleaning laminate floors
I haven't ever heard of that. Does it actually have oil in it and make the floors shine a little bit? It would be amazing if it did.
Here is Murphy's. I've only ever used the "original" formula but basically what I do is put a capful (depending on how dirty the floors are) of it in w/ fairly warm water and then mop. I've been doing this since I was a kid. The Freedom Mop is great b/c the sponge part you can wash in the washer (I want to say up to 50 times?) but this is what I use. Our floors always look very bright & clean, and the solution doesn't leave any sticky or streaky residue.
Good to know, although we've been in our house close to 5 years and have 3 rooms w/ laminate flooring. We've always used the Murphy's w/ a warm water solution and haven't had any issues.
