Hi NY Bride!

I think you and I wrote a few weeks ago and you said that you see Dr. Simonson.  I have my first appointment at 9 weeks on Wednesday!  I feel like I have waited forever, and I'm really looking forward to it.  What should I expect that he'll do?  Does he do a sonogram, and if so, is it from outside of the belly, or through the private area?

I hope you are feeling well.  I feel like time is flying in a way.  :)

  • hi!! you're going to love him! i see him tomorrow after our big ultrasound!

    first appointment:

when i got there: i gave them a urine sample. the nurses took my blood pressure, weighed me.

when we were called in: he was extremely nice and easy to talk too. he asked me a bunch of questions about my family history, and information about me and my husband. that took about 20 minutes. then he did a sonogram of our LO and it looked like a little bean! He printed out about 6 pictures. We were so excited we left with pictures. After a 10 minute sonogram he did an internal exam. It didn't hurt at all. He did a pap smear. Gave me the paperwork for the finger prick test. Also, gave me a referral for my 1st trimester screening. After the exam, I gave a lot of blood. We were there for about an hour.

He told me not to any processed food (i failed at that lol). We asked us to schedule appointments with him every 4 weeks. HOWEVER,  the next appointment you have will be with Dr. Ballard. She is amazing as well. They like you to rotate every other appointment so you get to know both doctors.

Good Luck!!!!!!  Let me know what you think!

Hello. I've waited here for you. Everlong<3<br>
  • Thank you!  You're the best.  Have you done that test for Down's Syndrome yet, where they measure the back of the neck and take a blood test?  If so, at how many weeks did you get it done?  We leave for a two-week vacation when I'm about 14 weeks, and I'd like to get it done and have the results before we leave, if possible.
  • yes. i called to schedule for 1st trimester screening as soon as i got home. i believe the range is 11-14 weeks.. we did it at exactly 12 weeks. we are early for the 2nd trimester screening.. the range is 18-22 weeks but dh and i have off this week and since its ELA State Testing and CSE Seasoning we can't leave work early or take a day off.. we also plan on maybe going away at the end of this week..  my dr okay us to do the screening at the middle of 17 weeks.
