One of my friends just bought me this as an early shower gift: http://www.amazon.com/Bright-Starts-Ingenuity-Portable-Swing/dp/B0032B500O/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1303150088&sr=8-4
Do I still want a RNP too?
I know the RNP is talked to death on here, but I was reading reviews about it on Amazon and now I'm sort of paranoid. Overall, the thing gets amazing, glowing reviews but there are some people that said they noticed their babies developing torticollis (issues with neck muscles so the head leans to one side) from having their baby in it all night. Maybe those babies were already predisposed towards developing the problem, but it makes me a little hesitant to leave the baby in it all night long. (This was what I planned to do before H and I thought we'd try the Pack N Play first.)
I still have it on my registry because I think it'll be a nice, portable place to set the baby when I'm showering, cooking, etc, but since I have the Bright Starts swing now, I'm wondering If I'd really need the RNP if I won't be using it for nighttime purposes.
Re: BR: RNP question
I like it a lot and think it's really convenient but Nate doesn't sleep long in it. It's just for during the day naps. He pretty much will sleep anywhere though. I plan to use it while I'm nannying for the first 2 months instead of a pnp. I also have a travel swing similar to the one you posted but you use the infant seat and it vibrates as well.
I felt that for $50, it works really well.
