I have an Accounting degree and have worked in public accounting as well as worked as a bookkeeper for various companies. I am job searching and considering payroll jobs in larger companies. My biggest thing is I don't want to get too bored at a job and also want to stay very busy. I'm worried that it would be just data entry and I would get bored fast. But I am at the point where I would rather have a boring job that kept me busy all day than a job where I barely had enough work to get me through 1 day.

I think you'd be bored doing payroll if you have an accounting degree. I am a full charge bookkeeper and do the payroll for our company. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to do my job.
