Critique baby shower menu, please!

I'm hosting my first Baby Shower this weekend.  It'll go from 2 to 4PM.  Please let me know what you think of my menu:

Finger Sandwiches - Chicken Salad, Ham & Cheddar, Turkey & Swiss
Pigs In A Blanket
Veggies w/Ranch
Fruit Kabobs - Cantaloupe, Watermelon, Grapes & Strawberries
Veggie Chips w/Fiesta Ranch (so good!)
Brownies
Cupcakes
Lemonade
Water

I'm thinking of adding chips with salsa & queso, but do you think I need it?  TIA!

Re: Critique baby shower menu, please!

  • No.  You have a lovely plan.
  • I think adding the chips, salsa and queso is a good idea.
They can snack on that as they arrive, then you can all dig into the rest of the food when everyone arrives.
  • I would skip the chips, salsa, and queso. While I love them, they don't go with the rest of your menu, and would lost the feel of everything you have planned. If you feel like you need an additional "snack" type offering, I would do a cheese platter with crackers.
  • As much as I love pigs in a blanket, I would replace them with a cheese platter. I would not add the chips with salsa and queso.
  • I wouldn't add chips and salsa/queso b/c I don't feel it goes with the rest of your menu.  If you want to add another snacky type food what about hummus and pita?

  • That sounds plenty and very nice. You have tons of food. I assume you will have a cake?

That is plenty of food and I wont add more. Have a great party!

  • I would add a side to go with the finger sandwiches, maybe a pasta or tortellini salad.  I don't think the chips with queso is necessary.

  • Can you add another finger sandwhich for people who don't eat meat?

I would do a cucumber and cream cheese, and nix the pigs in blankets.
