Help a former PDX nestie

Hi Oregon nesties!  I am not sure anyone would remember me as I did not post a lot, nor was I ever able to make it to the GTGs.  :(

DH and I moved back home to NE last summer.  I have the opportunity to freelance for my former employer for a few months, so we are spending our summer in Portland again. I am looking for a temporary living situation.  I, of course, scour craigslist everyday, but most people offering a room do not want couples.  :(

I just thought I would ask here if anyone knew of any temporary living situations through their friends or families.  Everybody knows somebody in Portland! so why not ask!

I don't have the exact dates yet, but I am assuming that I am going to be working June - Sept.

PM if necessary.  TIA!!!  And maybe I can make a summer GTG! ;)

  • How much space do you need and does it have to be in Portland or just close?
  • Have you checked airbnb.com? Some have "long-term" temporary housing- probably with a discount since it's longer than a week stay. I've had success in using them for vacation rentals but some properties are rented for months. GL!

  • Thanks for that website...I'll check it out.

As for space, not much....studio, just a room & bathroom really.  I found some studio apartments downtown, but they wouldn't be furnished.  When we moved to Portland the first time we lived for three weeks with just an air mattress and camp chair and a pot/pan.  It was a looooooooooong three weeks.  I don't think I could do that for 4 months.

Location, my job will be in Beaverton/Portland outskirts.  DH's will be downtown.  We are debating driving out or just flying out and not having a car.  Proximity to trimet is key.

So hard to decide what to do.  I have a feeling this could turn into a permanent move back, but won't know that until 3-4 months from now.

     Thanks again for any help.
