Who's planning on watching?? (What time does it start, anyway?)

Re: Royal Wedding
I have the DVR set up for next Friday! I am excited about watching it as I remember watching Princess Di's wedding (I didn't realize I was 6 years old, so maybe I didn't watch it but just remember bits and pieces--I do remember watching her funeral though because I remember crying when I saw her two boys). I am nervous for her as I can't imagine what she is feeling like right now. I think I would pass out knowing 2 million or so are watching me on TV and who knows how many are there in person.
The marriage service will being at 6 a.m. ET, the carriage procession of the bride and bridegroom with a Captain?s Escort of the Household Cavalry at 7:15 a.m. ET, the Buckingham Palace balcony photo op at 8:25 a.m. ET, and the ?fly past? by the Royal Air Force and Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at 8:30 a.m
The following timings have been confirmed for the Wedding Day:
- The Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Timothy Laurence
- The Duke of York
- Princess Eugenie of York
- Princess Beatrice of York
- The Earl and Countess of Wessex
I was just a newborn baby when Princess Diana's wedding was televised.
I might DVR it or just watch it live. Im excited to see it all, since I have never seen anything like it. I thought it would be fun to make myself some tea, and make some little sandwiches and petit fours too.
DH thinks its stupid.
Thanks for posting this!
I plan to dvr it. Just reading that list made me exhausted! The ppl planning all of this are going to be wiped out by the end of the weekend!
I did read this morning that Prince William will be the last to see Kate as he will be wisked to the Abbey and not be able to watch any television coverage. He will be hanging out with his brother and a few other people. I think that is neat because having so much coverage would take away some of the suspense of seeing the bride as she is walking down the aisle, so I think it is good that he won't be able to watch any TV.
I do hope the media leaves them alone for their honeymoon.
I'll DVR if i remember, but I think they'll be so much online afterwards everything I want to see will be there. If I were them i'd run away and get married in Vegas or something...LOL...this is all crazy...i imagine they think it's a PITA, but something the HAVE to do.
I agree. I do hope that they let her have some say in things and not just do things because that is how it is done and I hope they (wedding planners) don't try to copy everything from Charles and Diana wedding.
I imagine they will have some big party later on just for them and their friends and do things the way they want to (well at least that is what I would probably do if I was Princess Kate).
I was thinking that if it were me, I'd probably try to figure out a way to have a small, private ceremony before the big "royal" wedding. But at the same time, isn't this every little girl's fantasy? To grow up, meet a prince, have a huge wedding with the fanciest of everything, and live happily ever after in a castle? So much of this must be surreal for her and her family.
I'd really like to watch (I also remember Princess Di and Prince Charles's wedding...although I must've just watched clips later), but that ceremony starts at 3am here...and we don't have a DVR.

Honestly I couldn't really care less! I know it's MY royal family and all but it's just another wedding to me. I think it's just hyped up.
That said, I'm sure I'll catch glimpses of it afterwards. Definitely not waking up at 3 a.m. to watch it!
