QOTD

Inspiration for this came from my aunt who was visiting from Texas.  She was complimenting me on how beautiful our wedding was.  Then Rich and I got to reminiscing about that day.  So here's the QOTD.

What are your three favorite moments from the wedding?

Re: QOTD

  • 1. Walking down from the bridal suite to look at the reception set up.  It looked so beautiful and it hit me that I was getting married.  Until that moment I had not cried, I was actually pretty calm.

    2. Walking down the aisle and looking at Rich.  I started crying again.  I kept telling myself, stop crying, stop crying.  I then composed myself and just started smiling.

    3. Making our grand entrance as husband and wife.  All of our family and friends were cheering for us.  You could just feel the love and happiness.

Okay, there I go I'm going to start crying again...lol.

  • 1. For sure coming out of the bridal suite when everything was set up and seeing how everything came together after planning for 18 months. To me it was so beautiful, it made me smile form ear to ear.

    2. Doing a private "first look" with me and H (and the phtographer ofcourse). It was so special to just be us before the ceremony. And I oddly didn't get emotional at all.

    3. When we got in the get-a-way car to go to the hotel. It was an ultimate high to know we just got married and had an amazing wedding with our family and friends.

Also, I love to get compliments on how awesome the wedding was. I still get them from family!!

  • 1. I know this sounds horrible and evil, but when my MOH checked my voicemail for me and told me that my dad wouldn't be attending. About 30 lbs. of stress just melted right off me.

    2. The first look with Tom. I got to see him come outside, and the photographer walk him backward toward me and then she took the pics of us coming closer and closer until I turned him around.

    3. At one point during the ceremony, Tom started to get teary and I whispered to him that he wasn't allowed to start crying or I would. The photographer got a picture of it and we're both making these silly faces we make all the time. It looks so out of place for a wedding.

    4. I needed another one. After all of the drama from H's sister, when we got back to the hotel I found out my family had convinced the hotel bar to stay open for us and they had invaded the patio. It was so relaxing to hang out with about 15 family members and just decompress and forget the drama.

  • 1. Seeing Travis at the end of the aisle. It was like "This is it. It's finally happening." And he looked so handsome and happy. Especially happy.

    2. The ride on the golf carts from the ceremony to the picture locations. It was just us and our bridal party, I didn't have to see my family for a whole hour and we had JUST gotten married. I felt so relieved, like I was floating on air.

    3. Coming into the reception/first dance. Travis and I practiced the dance for months before. It felt exactly like I had hoped. Like a fairy tale. Everyone had walked in to "Today Was a Fairy Tale" by Taylor Swift and our song started playing and it was just amazing. Surreal. And even though all eyes were on us, I was only aware of Travis.

    4. (I need another one, too) Taking my dress off at the end of the night. I was so relieved that the whole thing was over and nothing awful happened (that I knew of at the time). And that dress was HEAVY. And Trav and I got to be truly alone for the first time. He was in jeans and a tee shirt and I was in my underoos (corset and spanx, so not that sexy) and we cuddled on the couch in the bridal suite for a minute.

(An unmatched left parenthesis creates an unresolved tension that will stay with you all day.

Had a dream I was queen.
    Woke up. Still queen.
  • I am not sure if I can narrow it down to three things, the entire event it was like I didn't stop smiling.  But let's see...

    1) driving from my house up to the wedding site with my girlfriends and photog.  I was so nervous/excited!

    2) walking down the aisle.

    3) when my uncle (JOP) said he was asking for the blessing from our relatives who couldn't make it to the ceremony and there was a hurricane strength gust of wind. as stephanie said, it was like the universe yelling YES.

    Fourth Anniversary

    1.  Doing our photos of just us before the ceremony.  We did most of our photos before, but I really enjoyed the time when just the two of us went off with the photographer.  I think we kissed off most of my lipstick.

    2.  Our vows.  I wasn't expecting it, but I got choked up when I read this 'promise' to each other that we wrote.  At the rehearsal, H didn't want everyone to hear it, so I just said 'I say something short, and then he says something short.'  It started by saying "H, I choose you this day..." and not having practiced it made it so fresh and emotional.

    3.  Just relaxing at the reception.  All of the tension and little frustrations and worries about how the day would go just melted away, and we had a great time.

  • 1.  Our first look - J looked so happy and the photographer got amazing pictures of it!

    2. Our officiant was also a best man - one of DH's best friends, he started tearing up during the ceremony and it was really sweet.

    3. The NFL themed reception - I loved it guests loved it.

I have one post-wedding favorite - my photographer apparently jacked our wedding to feature in her studio, on her mailings, and to show at bridal shows.  I walked into her studio yesterday and it looked like our wedding blew up in there - I came face to face with a 3 ft wide x 10 ft tall collage poster of DH and I in her studio.  I love it though!

  • 1. Walking down the aisle and seeing Jeremy. He looked so nervous that it made me feel better (is that terrible?) and I relaxed because he only gets nervous about really important things.

    2. The car ride to the reception. It was amazing to say "We're married!" Loved it.

    3. Relaxing and mingling with everyone at the reception. It was great seeing some old friends and family members I haven't seen in awhile.

  • 1 - Our champagne toast, after exiting the church.  It was both giddiness, and relief.  DH drained the entire glass in one move.

2 - Our pictures in the park with our BP.  We got some seriously awesome shots, and in the end, I was glad the groomsmen got top hats and monocles.

3 -  As much as I loved my hair and dress, taking it down and getting out of it!  Plus, by this point, the exhaustion, fueled by being sick, hit in.  I didn't even realize my head hurt until I started pulling out bobby pins (74 total!) - I was actually on the floor, with my head propped up on the bed, while DH and I fished for pins.  I also didn't realize how constricting the dress was until I took it off.

  • 1. I got a phone call from my little brother who was over seas at the time and I hadn't actually talked to him (besides email) for 5 months. I was in a broom closet in my dressing room in my dress with tears of joy streaming down my polished face and I didn't care.

    2. Hugging my daddy after he walked me down the aisle.

    3. Sitting in our hotel room at 2 am eating Taco Bell in tux and dress with sportscenter on. Cheesy maybe but it was nice to have that one quiet moment with Toby and be so glad and thankful for everything that had happened the day before. i was a whirlwind of emotions and I finally got to take a breath.

  • The entire day was magic - can barely narrow it down to just 3!

    1.   Looking up at Ivan while I was walking down the aisle and seeing that he had this HUGE, gigantic smile on his face.

    2.    Walking into the reception after the ceremony was over and he whispered "my God, you look so beautiful."  I loved that little moment with him before the night really started.

    3.    Walking in to the back room at the venue to wait for the ceremony to start and noticing everyone sitting outside and all the chairs set up for the first time.  That was when everything really hit me and I got nervous for the first time all day minutes before I walked.

This one is the day after the wedding, but I LOVED waking up with him for the first time as husband and wife.  We got up together, took a nice walk on the beach and went out for a nice breakfast just the two of us before meeting everyone for the boat cruise we had planned.  It was the most peaceful, blissful, romantic morning just talking, listening to the waves and being SO deleriously happy together as husband and wife with the wedding finally behind us.

OMG now I am going to cry too.  7 months later and we are still so happy together.  AND our 5 year dating anniversary is on the 30th!  This topic is making me get totally cheesy but I love my husband so much <3  I think I am going to send him one of those e-card e-mails now.

  • Awww...I love hearing everyone's special moments.  Sigh...I wish I could back in time and enjoy the day again.

  • 1.  When the photographer led me outside for our first look, and I saw Jeff (with his back to me), I was so overcome with emotion that I actually doubled over and had to fight back the tears.  Seeing him standing there made everything so real, it was very, "OMG this is happening NOW" and is probably the most memorable instant of the whole day.  Really, our entire first look, it was really nice getting to spend some (almost) alone time with Jeff and I love the pictures that came out of it.  He really calmed me down, and I was grinning from ear to ear for most of it (with a few teary-eyed exceptions).

    2.  During the ceremony, Jeff started to tear up and stole the tissue out of my hand and dabbed his eyes with it.  Our photographer got a shot of the steal and the eye-dabbing, and I love it.

    3.  Getting to sit down with Jeff during dinner - the sweetheart table was the best idea ever for us.  We were gushing about how we were finally married, and how awesome the ceremony was, and just what an amazing night it was in general, and I was so glad we had that time together.

  • Seeing all of my guests take pictures along the water's edge with the amazing sunset in the background.

Standing with MFD and a zillion of our closest friends and family belting out the last song of the night on the dance floor.

Most precious thing I've ever heard!

    1. First look.  DH was so emotional, it was really sweet to see.  He rarely shows public emotion.  The photog wouldn't let us kiss and he's trying to hug me and look at me at the same time.  Too cute.

    2. Prayer before dinner.  My cousin is an amazing pastor/speaker and there wasn't a dry eye in the house.  His daughter had gotten married the month before, so he had some great anecdotes.  FIL's speech and WP speeches were all great too.  We have some kick asss friends/fam.

    3. Our late night pics.  It was just DH and I and the photog.  Got some great shots and I loved the break of being alone amidst all the chaos of meeting/greeting guests.

    4. (Cheating too) When we got back to the hotel, DH, BP and I all went to the bar so we could decompress.  Some lady came over and invited us into her ballroom, they were having some sort of conference party.  Another open bar and dance floor.  I felt bad b/c I was the center of attn again, but they were so nice and wanting to party, it was a blast!

    5. (Cheating again) When we got undressed in the hotel room, DH had some custom boxers made that said Hello Mrs. Bxxxx.  It was hilarious and so him.

  • 1. Seeing James out of the corner of my eye while I was hiding in my car - this was prior to our first peek. I got emotional and that's when I figured "this was it, I'm getting married". Also our first peek was special and intimate. I was trying to hold my composure while walking towards James' back and anticipating what his reaction would be when he turned around.

    2. Having immediate family, most of my cousins, my IL's present to witness our ceremony (felt bad that H isn't close to his cousins so it was most of my family there).

    3. Not a favorite moment but I had to wash my face 3 times that night in order to get all of the make-up off. The next day I shampoo'd my hair twice because there was a lot of hairspray used.

This! I didn't take my hair out before I went to bed and I woke up the next morning with it still perfectly intact!

  • The whole day was amazing! :) Just like everyone else's! :)

    1) Standing at the end of the aisle with my daddy :) As soon as i grabbed his arm he started bawling and so did i!!!!

    2) 2 of the groomsmen were putting the aisle runner  down the aisle and they didnt grab the string for whatever reason and were bent over butts in the air unrolling the aisle runner lol hard to explain but my dad and i started busting out laughing!

    3) Getting to the end of the aisle and first thing hubs says is you look beautiful :)

    (i need more lol)

    4) The speeches were both so wonderful from my MOH and his BM! :)

    5) The next morning getting to the airport and seeing a lot of fellow brides with their hair still done up and we all talked about  how awesome our weddings were! hehe!

  • Oh, dude, it took me an hour to get all the bobby pins out and comb through the hair spray.  I used almost the entire mini bottle of shampoo at the hotel.  I knew not to sleep on it - did that once after prom and it was miserable.
